Our
Mission
The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper
Midwest, is to keep families together and strong while
facing the stress of serious pediatric illness or
disease. We serve families through our cornerstone
program, the Ronald McDonald House of the Twin Cities—a
home-away-from-home for families whose children are
being treated for life-threatening conditions, as
well as through outreach programs that extend support
to families who do not live at the Ronald McDonald
House.
A Home-Away-From-Home
Minneapolis/St. Paul provides a number of the world’s
most advanced medical treatment centers for pediatric
critical care. Families travel to the Twin Cities
from across Minnesota, the United States, and the
world for their children to receive highly specialized
care at our area hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House
of the Twin Cities accommodates 48 families on any
given night, providing lodging and a community atmosphere
of care, support and encouragement while reducing
the costs of daily living. It is not uncommon for
families to live at the Ronald McDonald House for
as long as a year. Providing a home-away-from-home
for families facing critical pediatric illness is
made possible thanks to our dedicated Board of Directors,
staff, over 3,300 diligent volunteers, and through
contributions of over 4,500 donors.
Ronald McDonald House Charities, Upper Midwest, also
supports and manages outreach programs that extend
support beyond our doors to the local community.
