The Partida Family

Patient: Alexa
Age: 2
Diagnosis: ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia)
Length of Stay: 1 year and 4 months

Alexa and her family, who are from Texas, spent more than a year at the Ronald McDonald House. When Alexa wasn’t in the hospital, she joined her bothers in socializing at the House. The children made many friends and never missed a birthday party, Bingo game or field trip. Alexa’s older bother, Sam, was able to continue his education at the Ronald McDonald House School and met other children who shared many of his experiences and feelings. Her younger bother, Alejandro, also made many new playmates. Knowing her children were supported and developing social and academic skills gave Alexa’s mom the freedom to focus on her daughter’s health.

“I can’t begin to put into words what the Ronald McDonald House meant to us.”
